The Poltimore Tiara was made for Florence, Lady Poltimore in the 1870s and was purchased for Princess Margaret for her wedding to Antony Armstrong-Jones in 1960. It is a convertible piece of jewellery that can be broken down into a necklace and eleven brooches, as Margaret often did especially prior to her wedding. The tiara met a rather horrid fate (seen with a royalist’s eyes) when, after Princess Margaret’s death in 2002, it was set on a Christie’s auction in 2006 being sold for £926,400.
